PV Paranormal Press’ inspiration occurred almost twenty years ago when I started the Panther Valley Paranormal Society with my partner Jerry Matika. Together with our wives we investigated cases throughout the area. In addition, I also began writing a column on magic and the paranormal for the Times News. This column ended up running almost eleven years during which time I wrote almost 600 columns.
During this time, I also organized a ghost tour for the Summit Hill Historical Society and at that time I began collecting the folklore and ghost stories of my hometown. While the tours ended in 2005, I continued to refine and collect stories. This led to publishing an article in FATE magazine which ran in July 2005. The article was all about the GAR Cemetery in Summit Hill.
I continued to research and refine stories and collect the history behind these stories. When I could not find someone to publish these stories I waited. When print on demand became established, I revisited this body of work. At that point, I retired from writing for the paper and soon after, I began assembling my notes and accounts into a book. During this time, I became aware of other writing projects on which I have been working as well.
As “Mysteries on the Mountain” grew to fruition, my ambitions turned to wanting to collect folklore for the Panther Valley and I wanted a way to tie it altogether. In light of these future projects and requests for ghost tours, we formed PV Paranormal Press as a brand for these books and other related ventures. We hope to bring you books, information and entertainment projects that deal with the paranormal, magic and related interests and arts.
